A Bit About Kwabena Danso Osei
Kwabena Osei Danso, an accounting and finance professional with almost thirty years of experience, has practiced in Ghana and Nigeria, with brief stints in France and Switzerland, primarily in the private sector.

He began his career as an Assistant Accountant/Consultant with the State Enterprises Commission (now State Interest and Governance Authority, SIGA) in the public sector, and later worked as an Economist/Analyst at Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation. In these roles, he conducted comprehensive diagnostic analyses of operations of state-owned enterprises and subsidiaries, providing valuable insights for strategic financial decisions and investment process improvement.

In Nigeria, Kwabena made significant contributions to the growth of private financial intermediation processes, the medical furniture/equipment business, and the beverage industry. He served as an Accountant and Finance and Administration Manager for two different companies, where he played a pivotal role in developing effective accounting systems. Prior to his engagement with Coastal Bottlers Limited, he successfully conducted a diagnostic analysis to identify the causes of the company's stagnation.

Upon returning to Ghana in 1996, Mr. Danso worked as a Controller for a joint Ghana-Swiss duty-free trading company, operating at the airport and other prime locations. During his eight-year tenure, he participated in two group executive development programs held in Switzerland and France. Subsequently, he joined the Council for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) as Head of Audit until January 2017.

At Weitnauer & GTDC Limited, a Swiss-Ghana joint venture, he oversaw the computerization of the accounting system. During his time at COTVET, he monitored and evaluated the National Apprenticeship Program, leading to its restructuring. He also played a key role in monitoring and evaluating the COTVET/World Bank and DANIDA Skills Development Fund, resulting in a positive report from all sponsors.
Mr. Danso has been involved in consultancy work, providing assistance, supervision, and leadership in business planning and advisory services for clients such as USAID and the Danish Government. He has been retained by USAID and several local companies. Currently, as a partner in an accounting firm, he leads a team serving thirty-six clients across various industries, including small-scale mining, hospitality, and pharmaceuticals. Recently, he successfully qualified two companies for funding under the 'One District One Factory' initiative of the Government of Ghana.
