Albert Nyampong

Managing Partner - Head of Ghana Operations 

Albert has played a pivotal role in structuring numerous client businesses throughout his extensive career. With over 40 years of practice experience in both the UK and Ghana, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. Albert has held numerous prominent managerial roles, further showcasing his leadership abilities and breadth of experience.

A Bit About Albert Nyampong

Albert Mensah Nyampong, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), serves as the Managing Partner of PMCT Accountants & Consultants in Ghana.

With over thirty years of post-qualification experience in various areas of accountancy, Albert began his career at Messrs. Basil Howells & Co., a public accounting firm in London, UK, where he worked from 1981 to 1988. He returned to Ghana in late 1988 and joined the State Enterprises Audit Corporation as Assistant Audit Manager. Through his dedication and expertise, he eventually became the Managing Director of the corporation from November 2002 to September 2012 before retiring from regular engagement with the corporation.

Following his retirement, Albert served as the Acting Director of Finance at the General Assembly Office of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana from January 2013 to December 2015. In May 2016, he was appointed as a director and the first Chief Executive Officer of Salem Financial Services Limited, a fund management entity established by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana.

 

Throughout his professional journey, Albert has gained significant experience in conducting statutory audits and assurance engagements, providing consultancy services, and undertaking investigative audit assignments. During his tenure at the State Enterprises Audit Corporation, he was involved in assignments for strategic organizations and institutions such as the Volta River Authority (VRA), Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Ghana Highways Authority (GHA), Forestry Commission (FC), Energy Commission (EC), State Housing Company (SHC), several institutes of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and the Ministry of Finance.

As the Managing Director of the State Enterprises Audit Corporation, Albert ensured that reports on assignments related to public boards and corporations were regularly submitted to the Office of the Auditor-General as inputs for the respective annual reports submitted by the Auditor-General to the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana. Reports concerning audit assignments on loans and grants from the International Development Association (IDA) were routinely submitted to the World Bank offices in Washington, USA, and Accra, Ghana, to assist in their monitoring and evaluation functions.
